Hello everyone, To all my valuable readers, whether you are a parent or not but always in need of gifts, solidarity, and mutual exchange of ideas, today I will share with you how I designed my toddler’s room as a creative parent, focusing on Creating a Funcional and Cozy Toddler Room Design.
The room is still in the production stage, and I am awaiting the arrival of the products I have ordered for the nursery room accessories. However, as I mentioned earlier, I have completely designed the room according to my designer side, considering the needs of my toddler.
Firstly, let me briefly describe the size and current appearance of our nursery room. Currently, there are two medium-sized wardrobes actively in use. Additionally, I use this room as a workspace, but of course, it will no longer be a workspace once the toddler bed arrives. Since it is my workspace, I currently have a desk and a bookshelf. We also have a toy cabinet for my toddler’s toys.
When designing this room, the things I wanted to achieve were:
- Firstly, to increase storage spaces and, if possible, to arrange everything in an organized way for efficient nursery room design. I prefer everything to be in its place when the room is tidy. I want a designated place for each toy in the toddler room.
- Secondly, a toddler bed that is comfortable for her and at the same time, eye-catching, fun, and Montessori-style, which won’t make the nursery room look cramped.
- Books are essential for both me and my toddler. Although this room belongs to my toddler, I also need to use it for storage. Therefore, I am thinking of having an open Montessori-style bookshelf and a closed bookshelf for our books, maintaining the nursery room design.
- In addition to these, as mentioned earlier, I want the entire design to adhere to Montessori principles for the toddler room. This way, I can support my toddler’s development in the nursery room.
Before starting the toddler room design, the first thing I always do is to make a rough sketch on a blank paper. This way, I can see what can be done and how to solve design problems before transferring the ideas to digital format. After that, I sit at my computer, using a computer that is compatible with design and gaming, with high graphic capabilities, allowing me to draw quickly and get fast renders for the nursery room. Time is crucial for me, so I always need to work fast. After creating the plan for the toddler room, I adjust the positions of the toddler bed and wardrobes, paying attention to efficient use of space for the nursery room.
Functional Toddler Bed Design
When designing the toddler bed, I prioritize simplicity, usability, and storage. Since my toddler is the user of the bed, it is essential for her to comfortably get in and out of bed and manage the storage spaces in the nursery room. I set the height at 45 cm above the ground, and the size is 90 cm x 200 cm for the toddler bed. You can adjust the toddler bed width according to the size of the nursery room. I add two drawers under the toddler bed, matching the toddler bed size. These drawers move independently with ease, thanks to the wheels underneath. This way, my toddler can access her toys whenever she wants. I plan to use these drawers for storing toys and clothes in the nursery room.
Minimalistic Bookshelf Design for Nursey Room
Next to the toddler bed, I add a minimalistic bookshelf to the wall for the nursery room to Create a Funcional and Cozy Toddler Room Design.. You can buy this children’s bookshelf from the link I provide or have it custom-made according to your nursery room size. I include designs similar to mine for the toddler room.

This is how my entire design process for the toddler’s nursery room has developed. After completing the design of all the pieces, I handed over 3D renders to my carpenter husband for production. This way, he will have a clearer idea about colors and textures for the nursery room. I also include a few wallpapers that I liked for the final details of the nursery room. These wallpapers not only add a delightful atmosphere to the toddler’s nursery room but also support the development of your toddler.
